Filandia, the prettiest village of Quindio – Colombia

To 1.923 meters above sea level in the department of Quindio, Colombia, just in the heart of the country; Filandia is located. A place of frosty and misty mornings but you feel it warm with the friendliness of its people. Also known as the “Illuminated Hill of Quindio”, it is one of the smallest municipalities of the department, has only three main streets running through the village from one side to another and no more than 12,500 inhabitants, but is a place full of beauty, tradition, and is surrounded by beautiful coffee landscapes that characterize this part of the country, located in central mountain range of Andes.

Udaipur, among palaces and miniature paintings

It’s been almost three months writing and telling stories through The Lis Stories, and mostly I have spoken about India and the various wonders it has. Today I want to tell you that with this article I want to give a break to the stories of India, because I want also to share stories about other places that deserve to be told. About India, this wonderful country, there is much to tell and many pictures to share, but I promise you that I will be writing later again about this magical and amazing place.

Udaipur is located in the south of the Rajasthan state in India, it is one of those places that have a lot to show and enjoy. This city is like others in this state, places full of beauty, history, culture and tradition. Udaipur is known as “the City of Lakes” because there are several large lakes that create beautiful landscapes. But the best known and largest is The Pichola Lake that lies in the heart of the city.

Cities of colors 3 of 3, Jaipur “The Pink City”

Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan state, this is known as the pink city because it was built in pink stucco, and also the pink color is considered a lucky color in the state of Rajasthan. This city was not always pink, it was painted this color in 1883 to welcome The Prince of Wales who was visiting. Since that, the pink color combined with ornaments of white has been preserved, giving the city a characteristic and a base for tourism.

Cities of colors 2 of 3, Jaisalmer “the golden city”

Jaisalmer is located in the state of Rajasthan, in the Thar Desert. Is recognized for the camel safaris in the desert and is dubbed “The Golden City” because of the golden desert sand that covers its streets and surroundings. Everything there is gold from their homes through its streets and ending in his beautiful fort.

Cities of Colors 1 of 3, Jodhpur “the blue city”

In India there are several cities that are renowned for being dyed a specific color which prevails between the color paint of their houses and streets. Among these stand out: Jaipur as the Pink City, Jaisalmer as the Golden City and Jodhpur as the blue city. All of them located in the state of Rajasthan in northwest India. These colors are the main attractions of these cities as a fundamental part of the local architecture.

Jodhpur is a city of narrow streets and blue houses, is like a heaven but on earth. When you look in the distance you can see the huge and imposing Mehrangarh Fort that stands on a hill full of beauty and grandeur. From there you can see the set of blue houses that look like a postcard, is an excellent vantage point from which can be seeing the Thar Desert and the large walls that still surround the city. On the opposite side of the fort, there is a hill from where you can have beautiful views of the fort and the desert, a place full of peace and tranquility.
